Master Instructor Course
Both full time and part time classes start throughout the year.
27 Credit Hour Course - 8 Months
13.5 Credit Hours Course - 4 Months Financial Aid is avalible for those who qualify.
Instructor courses are designed with the working professional in mind and are scheduled to accommodate a simultaneous professional career.
Classes begin at many times throughout the year and are designed for students who have not worked in the field or owned a salon for at least two years out of the past five consecutive years since graduating from a cosmetology, nail technician, or facialist course.
Course Description
Bacteriology, sterilization, sanitation, safety, histology, dermatology and physiology of the skin. Includes structure and function of skin and glands, color and morphology.
Facials and non-permanent hair removal includes draping, manipulations, cleaning and toning.
Orientation and review of the cosmetology curriculum. Introduction to teaching. Course outlining and development including:
- Lesson Planning
- Teaching and Techniques
- Teaching Aids
- Developing, administering and grading examinations
- Law, Beauty School Management, and Record Keeping
- Teaching
- Assisting in the classroom and clinic
- Practice Teaching
- classroom and clinic
Completion of the course qualifies the graduate to take the Master Instructor examination administered by the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology.
